About Me

I was born a cockney and have lived most of my life in England. I trained in medicine at St George’s Hospital, London, and underwent basic postgraduate surgical training to enter my particular area of interest, Emergency Medicine, as an NHS consultant. Towards the latter part of my career, I completed a Master’s degree in Philosophy as a Way of Life at Liverpool University.

I went through existential changes in mid-life, which led to a spiritual awakening. I could not manage the career and spiritual opening together, and with the character changes that ensued, I felt forced into early retirement.

As for many, retirement brought a flourishing of creativity, for me in the form of writing and music, both of which have become vehicles for the communication of my experiences.

I live in the North of England and am happily married with a grown up family.
